In the days when GFM had just been birthed, the Pastors circumstantially made all the minor and major decisions. This was not a very health situation so an SMT team was formulated in obedience to Proverbs 11:14 which states, “Where there is no counsel, the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety.”
In November 2017 the Lord begun to speak to the Pastors to begin to seek him to get to know his chosen Elders and Deacons to replace the SMT as a biblical leadership model. So, by God’s grace and through all the various biblical processes the team was chosen and during this month (April) GFM Elders and Deacons where announced and presented before the congregation on the 08.04.2018 in such a very colorful event. However, there was need to write up a Leadership guide a point of reference. This was a big achievement in the GFM history by all standards in light of the document quality at least from the comments of those who have read it.
Inauguration of GFM Elders and Deacons
This was a very special season as well in light of strengthening GFM leadership position and following the biblical model of Church leadership. At the birth of the ministry a team was identified and miraculously formulated.
Its purpose was to closely serve with the two Pastors in matter of wise decision making without conflict of interest and transparence. This team led by Mr. Emma Kirumira played a significant role till April 2018. As such the month of November 2017 was declared a season of prayer and fasting, requesting the congregation to actively participate seeking God’s guidance in this matter. In December there was a congregation vote just like the early church did in the book of Acts. So in April 2018 it was a great honour to have them presented to the congregation and also commissioned for their tasks and roles.
