A couple of weeks before the launch an Indian family invites the now Lead pastor and his wife to their home. The purpose was to bid them farewell before returning to their home land having spent close to 20 years in the pearl of Africa. As the Pastors were leaving, the Indian couple brought forth a box-guitar all beaming with lots of love. And they said what was found to be profound and prophetic. ‘May out of this small guitar come a big choir’.
With all honesty, they had no idea about GFM. After such a gift and the words so spoken, the news to them was broken and the rest is history. Celebrating 12 months as a ministry, it’s also a grand celebration of Ms. Carol Kigozi (CK) as worship seasoned leader with unique godly attributes. She was the very first person contacted prior to the birth of GFM. Fully convinced of God’s call, she obeyed just like Elisha followed Elijah. Indeed, the Lord brought in other gifted, talented and spirit filled members who felt and heard the call.
So, from nothing the Sovereign God has raised a formidable brand of men and women who are steadily growing into worshipping God in spirit and truth (John 4:24). At the start things were hard and difficult, a month towards the launch, this team had nowhere to practice from. But God being who he is, he led Ms. Dorothy Mukasa to open up her home and even provide one of our very first equipment, a piano. Her Ntinda home with her four beautiful daughters became FVIP’s hub every Tuesdays for choir practices. This team of 10 has been so diligent, committed and devoted for practices, and then the Sunday worship.
